Vegan EPA Omega-3 Technology Leader AlgiSys Attracts New CEO

AlgiSys is one of the leaders in producing vegan non-fish EPA omega-3 products from microalgae. Algae are often referred to as “resource of the future,” because they show great diversity and potential with over 15,000 compounds derived from them. Microalgae can be used for compounds like antioxidants, fatty acids, carotenoids, peptides, enzymes, and they could also find use as biofuel in the future.

According to Grand View Research, the global omega-3 market was estimated at $2.49 million in 2019, and it’s expected to grow rapidly in upcoming years. Additionally, the plant-based product market is expected to exceed $40 billion by 2025, as there is an increasing demand for vegan products.

That is why AlgiSis has collaborated with many industry giants to offer high-quality omega-3 and vegan protein products that will satisfy the growing demand.

Although omega-3 fatty acids have traditionally been derived from fish sources, microalgae are a much better, sustainable choice. Since overfishing has endangered many marine species, algae have shown to be an environmentally clean alternative, with excellent potential.

Expert veteran Peter Collela joined the AlgiSis team to help protect the world’s precious resources and improve human and animal health. Collela has been active on the international scene for over 40 years in the corporate finance sector.

During his successful career, he held the position of Chairman and CEO of the Colmen Group, a financial executive for the  North American operations of Royal Doulton China, and CFO  of a  division of  Berwind  Corporation. He also held different Chairman, COO, CEO positions in many companies requiring his help and expertise.

“Not all algae production methods are created equal. AlgiSys uses environmentally friendly fermentation technology that provides the highest output by far of any current algal processes,  making it controllable, economically viable, and easily scaled,” said Collela.

His areas of expertise include corporate finance, business consulting services, joint ventures, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, profit improvement, and growth initiatives in both the public and private sectors.

With this valuable addition to the team, AlgiSis aims to stay on top of non-fish omega-3 and algal protein products. You can visit their website to find more about what makes their products so unique and how algal nutraceuticals can improve your health.
